Terrorist Attacks Against Children: Vulnerabilities, Management Principles and Capability Gaps. 2006.
- "Events such as the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing and the 2004 terrorist attack on the school
in Beslan, Russia demonstrate that terrorists are willing and able to attack large numbers of children.
Moreover, pediatric casualties are likely when terrorist incidents occur in urban areas even
if children are not the primary target. Very little research has been conducted on the management
and outcomes of children during and after disasters. This paper discusses the known risks that
terrorism brings to children, vulnerabilities in this population, basic principles of pediatric disaster
response and current gaps in response capabilities."

The third world and international terrorism: preliminary reflections. 1985.
- "Raymon Aron analyzes contemporary warfare in terms of a triad of violence. The three types of warfare were symbolized by the hydrogen bomb, the tank, and the Sten gun. The most comprehensive of these three types of warfare was, of course, nuclear war, with its power of massive destruction and capacity to encompass widely disperse areas. Numerous outbreak of violence and a variety of battles have erupted in different parts of the globe since WW II. The range is from the Vietnam war in the far East to the football war in Latin America early in 1970. An even older from of warfare is civil war. African experiences include Chad, Nigeria, Eritrea, Sudan, Angola and others. Many of these are conventional both in being intra-territorial and in the armaments they used. A third type of warfare in Aaron's triad of violence are guerrilla and terrorist movements. These are symbolized by the Sten gun, the stealthy steps in the stillness of the forest, the sudden spur of fire on an unsuspected target."
